of Gary Birtles (Bjorn Ulvaeus)
 Gary Birtles has been a professional entertainer for over 25 years.
He studied At Mountview Theatre school in London before getting his first job in pantomime, playing 'Silly Billy' in Bournemouth.
in the panto he met his wife Lorrie and after the season they decided to team up and form a musical vocal duo.Their first job was in Abu Dhabi in the middle East, working in a hotel for 3 months. From there they went on to perform in hotels around the world and summer seasons all over the country.
Recently they secured their engagement on the cruise ships for P+O where they worked for 3 years.
One of the major gigs that gary and his wife worked was during a summer season with Vince Hill in Lowestoft.
IN BETWEEN CONTRACTS FOR THE DUO, GARY WAS ALSO ABLE TO CONTINUE HIS ACTING CAREER WORKING IN THEATRE AND TV AS WELL AS APPEARING IN 3 INDEPENDENT FILMS.
GARY ALSO CARRIED ON HIS LOVE OF PANTOMIME AND HAS PLAYED THE PART OF COMIC IN 17 PANTO’S AROUND THE COUNTRY, INCLUDING, BILLINGHAM, BLACKPOOL, DARLINGTON, LOUGHBRO, TELFORD AND PORTHCAWL.
PANTO WORK ALSO LED HIM ONTO CREATING AN ACT AS A CHILDRENS ENTERTAINER AND HAS DEVELOPED HIS ART OF BALLOON MODELLING.
GARY HAS ALSO ENJOYED SOME UNUSUAL JOBS IN THE BUSINESS, ONE OF WHICH WAS PLAYING THE PART OF GARTH IN A ‘WAYNE’S WORLD’ LOOKALIKE ACT. THIS CULMINATED IN AN APPEARANCE ON RICHARD AND JUDY’S ‘THIS MORNING’ PROGRAMME AND IS HONOURED TO BE PART OF A SELECT FEW WHO HAVE STOOD ON FREDS WEATHER MAP. ANOTHER CHARACTER HE HAS WORKED AS IS, OZZY OSBOURNE.
RECENTLY GARY EMBARKED ON A NEW CHALLENGE IN HIS LIFE, WORKING AS A COMEDY/IMPRESSIONIST. OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS GARY HAS WORKED IN SEVERAL HOLIDAY CENTRES ON THE EAST COAST AND PERFORMED IN THE HOLIDAY INN, HARROGATE.
GARY IS ABSOLOUTLY OVER THE MOON TO BE APPEARING AS BJORN IN VOULEZ VOUS. HE LOVES THE MUSIC AND GREW UP IN THE ERA, ALSO ALL THROUGH HIS CAREER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN COMMENTING ON HIS LIKENESS TO THE HANDSOME SWEDE… |
