Biography of Ruby Scott (Vocals)

Ruby Scott is the Vocalist for Voulez Vous the ABBA Tribute ShowRuby Scott
Born: Ruby Jayne Turner on 4 April 1986
Rochdale

Ruby started dancing just before her 2nd birthday where she took part in Rochdale carnival as a mascot for High Crompton Morris Troupe.
This is where Ruby’s performing tendencies became apparent as she was constantly running out of the line to show off her medals and dancing skills to the crowd’s.
It was only around the tender age of 3 Ruby began to sing on stage the only song she knew, ‘Pal of my cradle days’ word for word at a Christmas party and never stopped singing since.

In 1997 after training in Tap and Ballet at Jennifer Brierley’s school of dance Rochdale, she decided to leave to join the youth section of  Heywood Amateur Operatic and Dramatic society, Hey Kids. Her first ever roll was a Clown and Paper boy in the musical Bugsy Malone. In her 8 years with the society Ruby enjoyed playing many lead rolls and was nominated for best  lead actress by the GMDF (Greater Manchester Drama Federation) for her performance as Carmen Diaz in Fame The Musical.

In this time Ruby was also studying at Oulder Hill Community School, the home of the Gracie Fields Theatre where she gained 100% for her A level Drama Performance and Honours in Grade 7 musical theatre singing.

Then at the age of 17 Ruby gained a place on a 2year Musical Theatre Coarse at Manchester City Collage (Formally Sheena Simons Performing Arts) and loved commuting to Manchester on the train. To earn her way through collage she begin singing solo on the northwest club circuit.

After Graduating with Distinction in 2005 Ruby became a Vocal coach for S.A.W (Schofields Arts Workshop) whilst attending gruelling auditions in London. It wasn’t long before she Landed her first singing contract with Teduk (part of the Qudos group). Touring Cyprus in the Production Show Team for Thomson Gold Hotels. And has since worked for the same companies in Portugal and Rhodes/Greece 5* resort.
