The book
Almost everybody knows the Swedish pop group ABBA – hits like
Money Money Money, Knowing Me Knowing You or Really Trouper have
come worldwide into the collective consciousness. On the 15th November,
2005 ABBA singer Anni-Frid Synni Lyngstad, to her fans celebrated
better simply as Frida known, her 60-th birthday.
Frida Lyngstad has become famous above all as a beaming interpreter
of many hits. However, she is also a charming and courageous woman
who reached the summit of the fame in her life and in her career
and had to pocket, nevertheless, variously repercussions. This book
honors Frida. It is a photo album which takes up all facets of the
nice singer – her elegance, her charisma, her glamor –
but also moments at which she is relaxing quite simply privately,
and looks amusing.
The contents
The photos in this tape escort the reader to the stations of her
artist's life – from the beginnings in a jazz club up to her
application for the environment protection and the anti-drug campaign
in which she been involved together with queen Silvia von Schweden.
An important part of the pictures is dedicated of course Frida's
splendid career with ABBA. The photographic trip leads us by the
fashion, the spirit of the times and the look of the early sixty-year-olds
till this day.
The book also contains totally unknown photos with her ABBA colleagues
Agnetha, Björn and of course Benny with whom it was married.
This illustrated book offers countless insights into an amusing
life.
The authors
The pictures come from the private archive of Philippe Elan and
Jean-Marie Potiez, both respectable ABBA specialists.
